The variety was bred in Mexico with the participation of state agricultural structures. In wheat genealogical records, the variety is classified as originating from Jupateco sib.
The plant possesses a complex of resistance genes to leaf rust (Puccinia recondita), including Lr13, Lr17, Lr27 and Lr31. The variety was actively used in breeding programs as a source of genetic material and for cultivation in suitable agro-climatic conditions.
