Argent is a white-grained winter wheat variety characterized by the absence of seed dormancy. In scientific literature, it is known as a carrier of specific resistance genes to stem and stripe rust.
Currently, the variety is used in breeding programs and genetic research, including gene mapping, QTL analysis, and experiments using the ph1b mutant for gene transfer. In field trials, it often serves as a control sample.
