The variety is an awnless winter wheat with a distinct vernalization period, without which it does not form inflorescences. It belongs to quality class I, characterizing it as high-quality bread wheat.

The variety possesses effective resistance to Septoria nodorum blotch and outstanding resistance to Fusarium head blight for its time. Due to these properties, it is used as a standard in breeding programs and genetic studies of resistance to fungal diseases.
