The variety is the result of crossing Frassineto 405 and Mentana. The designation "B" in the name indicates the plant height characteristics. It is a medium-early winter variety with a stem height of about 100 cm, adapted for cultivation on plains and low hills with less fertile soils.
The spike is fusiform, loose, light-colored, awnless, and about 7.8 cm long. The grain has a reddish hue. The variety possesses resistance to cold, lodging, and major pathogens. Yield varies from 2.85 to 3.54 t/ha.
The bread-making properties of the variety allow it to be used for bread production, with a relatively high protein content in the grain. The variety is included in regional variety registers intended for preservation in Italy.
