The winter soft wheat variety Boomer has the breeding designation PBIS 01/1024. Morphologically, the plant is an L-line variety with a white ear of medium length and density. Viewed from the side, the shape of the ear is tapering, with short awnlets present.
The variety is mid-season. In trials, it was assessed as having medium lodging resistance. Studies covered susceptibility indices to eyespot, Fusarium, brown rust, and powdery mildew, as well as the reaction to barley yellow dwarf virus.
