The variety is one of the earliest among winter wheats, having a shorter growing season than the Ceylon variety. The plant is characterized by above-average stem strength, however, in dense stands, the use of growth regulators may be required due to stem height.
The winter hardiness of the variety is rated as one of the highest in the group, with survival rates exceeding those of control varieties. Yield is consistently competitive, and the variety is resistant to major cereal diseases.
Product quality includes a high falling number and protein content, as well as excellent gluten and test weight indicators. The dough has high tolerance to mixing and good extensibility properties.
