The Claudius variety is mid-season. The plant reaches a medium to tall height. The variety possesses high winter hardiness and high nitrogen use efficiency.

Resistance to lodging and yellow rust is medium. High resistance to snow mold and low resistance to brown rust are noted. The tendency for pre-harvest sprouting is high, and the test weight of the grain is medium.
