The variety is the result of breeding work in Romania. The genetic pedigree of the wheat is based on the crossing of the Fundulea 4 and Atlas 66 varieties. The plant belongs to the group of winter crops intended for use in the baking industry.
The variety demonstrates yield potential and high grain quality indicators, including protein and wet gluten content, which can vary under the influence of agroclimatic conditions and fertilizers. In scientific studies, the variety is examined for resistance to Fusarium head blight and stripe rust.
Crisana is often used in experimental work as an object for assessing the physiological mechanisms of plant adaptation to abiotic factors, in particular to drought and soil salinity.
