Glenan belongs to tall, awnless winter wheat varieties. The variety has medium-early maturity, medium resistance to Fusarium head blight, yellow rust, and brown rust, and is also sufficiently resistant to powdery mildew and Septoria. At the same time, it is susceptible to lodging, eyespot, and mosaic virus, while demonstrating good winter hardiness.

The grain of the variety has medium to hard hardness and produces a cream-colored crumb. The variety is classified as a high baking quality wheat (BPS) and is recommended for use in organic farming due to the balance between yield and protein content level.
