The GOSHAWK line was created within the framework of breeding programs aimed at introducing beneficial traits from wild species such as Thinopyrum elongatum. The material is characterized by a semi-dwarf growth type and a strong stem.
During breeding trials, significant drawbacks were identified in this line, including reduced fertility and a high tendency of the ear to shatter. Due to the lack of advantages in yield and quality compared to standards, the material was not approved for commercial cultivation and was excluded from variety trials.
