Variety description

10 August 2026

The Mamba variety, also known as Kenya Mamba, was released in the 1960s as part of Kenyan national breeding programs. Its pedigree used African and international breeding materials, including lines of the Africa Mayo type.

The plant belongs to the category of bread wheat and was classified as a "strong stable wheat." The variety demonstrates high baking properties, however, in comparison with modern varieties, it is characterized by low resistance to diseases, in particular, to stem rust.
