The variety is the result of breeding work from the early 20th century, conducted at the Svalöv station in Sweden. Various versions of the variety were obtained in the period from 1915 to 1923.
In the past, the variety was known for its resistance to yellow rust; however, over time, this was overcome by new races of the pathogen. Modern agronomic characteristics of the plant are not provided in current reference books due to the cessation of its commercial use.
