The variety is winter type and is characterized by a short stem, which ensures low lodging susceptibility. The level of winter hardiness of the variety is assessed as high.

Grain quality is characterized by low weight and high falling number values. The variety possesses low susceptibility to powdery mildew on leaves and ears, to yellow rust and tan spot, but is highly susceptible to leaf rust infection.

In scientific research, the variety is used as a model object in the study of wheat resistance to powdery mildew, and lines with resistance genes from Ethiopian landraces were used in its breeding.
