The variety is a winter type. The ear is awned, spindle-shaped, ranging from medium-dense to lax, and has a tendency to droop. Glumes are glabrous, white in color, sometimes with black stripes, of medium length and width.
The grain has a red color, hard consistency, medium length, and an elliptical shape. Historically, the variety was characterized as high-yielding and was used as a grain quality 'improver'.
In modern breeding, the variety and its derived forms are used as genetic material or as a control standard when studying productivity, resistance to diseases, in particular root rots, and grain quality indicators.
