Vánek variety plants are medium-tall to tall. The variety has medium lodging resistance and forms very large grain. Yield is high under both intensive and extensive cultivation technologies; the intended use is baking.
The variety is moderately resistant to Fusarium head blight, shows medium resistance to powdery mildew on leaves and ears, and to Septoria nodorum blotch. Lower resistance to leaf spotting and leaf rust was noted, as well as susceptibility to stem rust.
