The variety belongs to the Hard Red Spring Wheat type. Its pedigree includes Mida and lines related to the Thatcher variety. Plant height is approximately 89 cm. The variety is characterized by high lodging resistance due to its strong straw.
The plant possesses good resistance to a number of diseases. It is noted, however, for susceptibility to ergot, as well as instances of environmentally induced male sterility during cool and cloudy weather at the jointing stage. Currently, the variety is used more as genetic material for breeding.
