The variety was created at the CNEN Agricultural Laboratory using mutant lines of Cp B144 and Mexican varieties containing Norin-10 dwarfing genes. Plants are characterized by reduced stem height compared to traditional varieties of that period.

The variety is characterized by high yield, high spike fertility, and photoneutrality. The grain possesses high technological qualities inherited from the original parent lines.
