The variety is short-statured, which is why it is not recommended for cultivation on soils with low fertility levels. It was created as a high-yielding alternative to local varieties and is intended for the production of bakery products, pasta, and bulgur.

The grain of the Mesaoria variety possesses high and stable vitreousness at the level of 95% and is characterized by an increased concentration of yellow pigment. Under conditions of sufficient precipitation, the variety demonstrates high productivity.
