The variety belongs to fringed tulips and blooms in mid-late or late periods (April–May). The plant reaches a height of 40–50 cm and possesses winter hardiness corresponding to hardiness zone 4.

The flower has a goblet shape and a dark purple, almost black color; the edges of the petals are decorated with pronounced fringing. The variety may have a light fragrance and is suitable for cutting, as well as for use in landscape design, including planting in flower beds, borders, rock gardens, and containers.
