The variety is a hybrid obtained as a result of crossing New Hanover and Draper. The genetic composition includes portions of Vaccinium corymbosum, V. darrowii, V. angustifolium, V. virgatum, and V. tenellum. The plant forms a vigorous bush with numerous moderately branched shoots; the fruits are easily accessible for harvesting.
The berries have a medium blue color, good firmness, and flavor. The variety is well adapted to the growing conditions of northern highbush blueberries. In some sources, this variety is mentioned under the trade name Capella.
