The variety Plablue 1542, also known as Blue Maldiva, is a southern highbush blueberry. The plant has moderately vigorous growth, an upright habit, and is self-fertile.
The berries are large, reaching 26 mm in diameter, have a flattened shape, and a sugar content of 13 to 16° Brix. The fruit is characterized by high firmness and retains marketability during transport and storage for up to 4 weeks.
The fruiting period of the variety lasts from the beginning of February to mid-June. Depending on cultivation conditions, the yield can reach up to 30,000 kg/ha or about 4.2 kg per bush.
