The variety ripens simultaneously with the Duke and Bluetta varieties, approximately one week before the Bluecrop variety. At five years of age, the plants reach a height of 1.6–1.8 m, exceeding the Bluetta variety in size. The berries are characterized by their large size and high flavor qualities.
The plant is resistant to frosts down to -31°C and infection with red ringspot virus. The variety is intended primarily for the fresh market and is considered as an alternative to the Bluetta variety.
The name Sunrise is also used for other objects, including Polish planting material with unspecified characteristics and the patented Eureka Sunrise variety, which has no relation to the classic American breeding.
