The variety belongs to the southern highbush blueberry group and was developed as part of a program to reduce chilling hour requirements. The bush has an upright growth habit and vigorous growth, while producing a limited number of root suckers.
The plant demonstrates good resistance to root rot, stem blight, and major leaf diseases, as well as high survival rates. The variety is early-maturing, ripening earlier than the Star, Emerald, and Jewel varieties.
The berries are characterized by large size, excellent flavor, firmness, and a dry picking scar. Due to ripening characteristics and a tendency for berry softening in some seasons, frequent harvesting is recommended. The variety is effective as a pollinator for other blueberry varieties.
