The Searles variety, also known as «Searles Jumbo», is a selected form of Vaccinium macrocarpon found in the state of Wisconsin. It belongs to the «Big Four» of historical varieties that formed the basis of commercial cranberry production in the USA in the 20th century.

The plant possesses high yield and good adaptation to the climatic conditions of the region of origin. The fruits of the variety are distinguished by an increased content of phenolic compounds. The variety was actively used in breeding programs for the development of new hybrids.

The variety is intended primarily for industrial cultivation for the purpose of subsequent processing and marketing of products.
