This is a wild-growing subspecies of lingonberry, common in the arctic and subarctic regions of North America, Canada, and Alaska. The plant is a dwarf shrub with a height of 2 to 15 cm, often forming dense carpets creeping along the ground.
In natural conditions, the subspecies produces one harvest per season and blooms with white or pinkish flowers. It possesses high adaptability to the severe climatic conditions characteristic of its habitat and is not a breeding achievement for commercial horticulture.
