ActiveVaccinium L. · Bilberry
RIDLEY WILLIAM BELL
10 August 2026
The bush is vigorous, upright and spreading, reaching 1.6–2.0 meters in height. Leaves are dense, elongated, emerald green, turning yellow to reddish-purple in autumn. With age, bushes tend to become dense.
Berries are large, 22–25 mm in diameter and 1.8–4 g in weight, having a round or slightly flattened shape and a light blue color. The flesh is firm, with a sweet and sour taste. Ripening begins from the second ten-day period of August. The yield is 4–6 kg per bush.
The variety has good resistance to major blueberry diseases and short-term drought. Frost resistance is medium. The plant is self-fertile, but cross-pollination is recommended to increase yield. It is demanding regarding soil acidity (pH 4–5) and the presence of drainage.
