Ridley 1403
ActiveVaccinium L. · Bilberry
RIDLEY WILLIAM BELL
10 August 2026
The bush is vigorous, 1.8–2.1 meters in height, with a spreading crown. The variety is distinguished by high winter hardiness down to -30°C, resistance to fluctuations in temperature and soil moisture, and low maintenance requirements.
Berries with a diameter of 18–19 mm have a light blue color and a pleasant sweet taste. Due to the firm skin, the fruits have good transportability. The variety is considered self-fertile, but requires cross-pollination to obtain stable yields.
The plant is used for fresh consumption and processing. Due to its decorative appearance, especially the autumn leaf coloration, the variety is suitable for landscape design and creating hedges.
