The variety is the result of a cross between Grenache gris and Saint-Pierre doré. The plant is characterized by an upright growth habit and moderate fertility. Bud burst occurs relatively late, approximately 5–10 days after the Chasselas variety.
Bunches are large, cylindrical or conical in shape, often with a wing, and of medium or high density. Berries are small, rounded, turning golden-yellow upon ripening, sometimes with a pink hue on the sunny side. The variety possesses high resistance to Botrytis cinerea and is characterized by good yield.
