Variety description

10 August 2026

The variety belongs to the mid-late or late ripening category. Clusters are medium or large, cylindrical-conical, and fairly compact. Berries are medium-sized, round, dark blue in color, and covered with a bloom of medium density.

The plant possesses good resistance to grey mold, as well as to drought and water stress. It is characterized by good and stable yields. Wines from this variety have a deep color, pronounced tannins, balanced acidity, and notes of black berries, spices, and herbs.

It is used both in blends to improve the structure and color of wines and for creating varietal wines. Due to its resistance to climatic changes, it is officially authorized for use in a number of French regions, including Bordeaux.
