Sheegene-20
ActiveVitis vinifera L. · Common grape vine
TIMOTHY SHEEHAN
10 August 2026
The variety is the result of crossing the Bican and Muscat Hamburg varieties. The vines are characterized by very high vigor; shoots are often formed on trellises or pergolas using perennial wood. The vegetation period is 134–160 days.
Clusters are large, weighing 600–800 g, cylindrical-conical in shape, loose. Berries are very large, oval or egg-shaped, golden-yellow or amber-colored, covered with bloom, with firm skin and fleshy juicy pulp. Flowers are hermaphroditic.
The variety has weak resistance to fungal diseases such as downy mildew, powdery mildew, and grey mold, and requires regular protection. Frost resistance is low; in harsh climatic conditions, the plant needs covering.
