The variety is a spontaneous somatic mutation of the Italia grape discovered on a lateral branch of the plant. Genetically, it is practically identical to the original variety, with the exception of the berry skin color.

The plant has good growth vigor and requires support. The clusters are large, the berries are oval with thick skin, and their color at full maturity ranges from pink to red. The flesh is fleshy and juicy, possessing a characteristic muscat flavor.

The variety belongs to the late-maturing category. Like the original Italia variety, it is susceptible to downy mildew and gray mold.
