Variety description

10 August 2026

The variety is an interspecific hybrid obtained from crossing the Diana and Chambourcin varieties. The vines have medium vigor and low lateral shoot formation. The vegetation period is 135–140 days. Clusters are cylindrical-conical, of moderate density, weighing 150–200 g. Berries are rounded, dark blue or black, with juicy flesh and intensely colored juice.

The plant is characterized by high yield and frost resistance down to –27 °C. The variety possesses pronounced resistance to downy mildew, powdery mildew, and gray mold, which allows for cultivation with minimal use of fungicides. Shoot maturation is good.

The purpose of the variety is technical, for the production of red wines with intense color and natural juices. Taste qualities are harmonious, sugar content of the berries is 20–22%, acidity is 8–9 g/l. It is also known under the synonyms Geilweilerhof 67-198-3 and Alan chernyy.
