The variety has medium to strong vigor. Leaves are medium to large, five-lobed, smooth and shiny. Clusters are medium to large, ranging from loose to moderately dense. Berries are medium-sized, round, yellow-green, and develop an amber hue upon ripening.

The plant is demanding regarding growing conditions, preferring deep, nutrient-rich, moist soils. It is characterized by low winter hardiness and sensitivity to late spring frosts, as well as susceptibility to downy mildew and powdery mildew, though it is moderately resistant to gray mold.

Wines from this variety are noted for their low acidity and moderate floral bouquet. Due to its characteristics, the grape is often used in blends to provide softness to wines, and in favorable years, it can be used for the production of Prädikatswein.
