The grape leaf is medium-sized, round, three- or five-lobed, with slight cobwebby pubescence on the underside. The bunch is medium-sized, cylindrical-conical in shape, of medium density. The berry is medium-sized, oval, dark blue, almost black in color, with thick skin.

The variety is of mid-season maturity, characterized by medium vigor or high shoot growth energy. Frost resistance is limited to the range of -15...-18°C. Yield is low; the variety prefers hillsides, which contribute to obtaining a more concentrated yield.

Wines from Syrah possess a deep dark color, high tannin content, and acidity. The flavor and aroma profile includes notes of black berries, black pepper, spices, leather, and chocolate. The style of the beverage varies from elegant in a cool climate to fruity and alcoholic in a hot one.
