The BC 418 hybrid belongs to the FAO 460 maturity group and has grain of an improved dent type. The plants possess a strong stalk and long leaves with a stay-green effect, which remain green for a long period, contributing to intensive photosynthesis.
The variety is resistant to common smut, stalk rots, lodging, and drought. It is intended for intensive cultivation technologies with a recommended plant density at harvest of 70–75 thousand plants per hectare.
The hybrid is suitable both for obtaining high-quality grain and for silage production, demonstrating high yield under conditions of high planting density.
