For the propagation of Erica gracilis, terminal cuttings of non-flowering semi-hardwood shoots 7–10 cm long are used, which must have at least three healthy buds. The optimal timing for this work is in the second half of August or during the period from December to February.
Rooting is carried out in a mixture of sphagnum peat or sod soil with sand, burying the cuttings to a depth of 2–3 cm. During the process, it is necessary to maintain stable humidity, create a greenhouse effect, and keep the temperature within the range of +18...+20 °C. After successful rooting, which takes about a month, the plants require immediate transplanting to avoid further growth retardation.
