Within the framework of DUS testing, the Phalaenopsis flower stalk is evaluated according to standardized UPOV protocols. For quantitative and qualitative characteristics such as length, branching, and curvature, metric indicators and scoring scales are applied. The evaluation is carried out on a group of 20 plants under greenhouse conditions over two flowering seasons.

Flower stalk indicators depend on the variety type: in standard large-flowered varieties, the length reaches 70–100 cm, whereas in mini-varieties it does not exceed 30 cm. An important varietal trait is the type of inflorescence, for example, pronounced branching in multiflora types. In cultivation, the flower stalk serves as an indicator of the active growth phase, determining breeding priorities for cut flowers or pot plant production.
