For container cultivation of Capsicum annuum L., it is critical to select genetically determined dwarf forms with a bush compactness index of up to 30–50 cm. Plants require high light intensity of at least 12–15 hours per day and maintenance of temperatures in the range of +18…+24°C, as a decrease in these values below +15°C negatively affects development.
The root system of the pepper is sensitive to damage; therefore, the method of transferring to containers with a volume of 3 to 5 liters is recommended. The substrate must be loose and air-permeable, with a mandatory drainage layer to prevent water stagnation. A controlled microclimate allows the crop to bear fruit continuously, and its status as a facultative self-pollinator ensures high fruit set in enclosed spaces without the involvement of insects.
