For successful development of lachenalia in pot culture, cool conditions with temperatures in the range of +8...+14°C are required, as temperatures rising above +16°C lead to excessive leaf elongation and a loss of flower color intensity. Given the plant's winter-blooming nature, the summer dormant period for the bulbs must occur under dry conditions to prevent rotting.
Plants are planted in groups of 3–8 in shallow, wide containers, where the volume only slightly exceeds that of the root system, as excess space encourages root development to the detriment of flowering. Due to the high sensitivity of the crop to substrate salinity, the concentration of fertilizers must be reduced by 2–3 times compared to standard rates.
