Cucurbita pepo L.
A zucchini variety classifier that determines the duration of the period from full emergence to the onset of technical maturity, at which point the fruits have undeveloped seeds and tender skin.

The period until technical maturity is measured by the number of days from the appearance of full emergence. Ultra-early varieties reach it in 35–40 days, early varieties in 40–50 days, and mid-season varieties in 50–60 days. Late-maturing forms are less common and may reach biological maturity in 100–120 days.
This trait determines the organization of conveyor production and the feasibility of growing the crop in two rotations. Regular harvesting of fruits at technical maturity stimulates the active growth of new ovaries, whereas leaving fruits until biological maturity slows down the development of the subsequent yield.
