A fungal disease of tomato caused by the pathogen Passalora fulva, characterized by leaf damage and the formation of an olive-brown mold. The crop's resistance to the disease is controlled by specific Cf genes.

The pathogen Passalora fulva is a hemibiotrophic pathogen whose spores remain viable for up to 12 months. The disease manifests as the appearance of yellowish spots on the upper side of the lower leaves, which correspond to a velvety mold on the underside that changes color from light gray to olive-brown. Affected tissues become necrotic, leaves curl and dry out, and in cases of high infection intensity, mold can appear on stems and fruits.
The pathogen possesses high variability, forming numerous races classified in international practice by letter codes or numerical values. Genetic resistance in tomatoes is provided by a system of dominant Cf-1 — Cf-19 genes. In professional breeding, resistance to this pathogen is designated by the codes Ff or Pf, and in seed catalogs, by the letter C followed by the number of races to which the variety remains resistant.
