To form a continuous carpet, seedlings are planted at intervals of 25–30 cm, which ensures the plants close their canopy by July and suppresses weed growth. The plant requires sunny locations and high-quality drainage, as waterlogging is critical for the crop's development in dense plantings.

Due to the slow initial development of the seedlings, early sowing for transplants in February–March is necessary to ensure flowering from the beginning of June.
