The vigor of a variety is manifested in the overall development power of aerial organs, including tillering intensity, shoot length, and the rate of leaf area formation. As a seed characteristic, this indicator reflects the ability of seedlings to develop successfully under actual field conditions by pushing through the soil layer, which distinguishes it from standard laboratory germination.
During variety testing, development intensity is assessed visually or through biometric indicators, such as plant height and crown diameter, in comparison with reference samples.
