The primary requirement is a cooling phase at temperatures between +4 and +9 degrees for 15–20 weeks, which simulates natural wintering and is essential for flower stalk development.
Cultivation is carried out using both traditional substrates and hydroponic methods. Under greenhouse conditions, it is critical to maintain air humidity at or below 80% to prevent the physiological disorder known as 'topple' and to reduce the risk of pathogen-induced rot at high planting densities.
