The variety was bred in New Zealand based on turf samples collected from golf courses. Selection was aimed at obtaining a viable plant capable of maintaining high performance characteristics under low mowing.
The plant forms a dense turf and is oriented toward professional use as a surface for greens. Morphologically, the variety is distinguished by a high degree of expression of traits used in international documentation for the description of bentgrass varieties.
