The variety is intended for creating putting greens type surfaces. It forms a denser and higher-quality turf compared to older varieties, such as Penncross.
In comparative field trials, the variety demonstrated competitiveness, however it is susceptible to gradual displacement by Poa annua. It was also used in studies of physiological resistance to temperature stress.
