Variety description

The plant forms a dense carpet of glossy leaves, the color of which darkens to a deep eggplant-purple in summer. Flowering occurs in spring and is accompanied by the appearance of spike-like inflorescences of a bright purple-pink shade.

The variety adapts to most conditions, preferring moist, well-drained soils. The best foliage ornamental quality and abundant flowering are achieved when planted in full sun, however, placement in partial shade is permissible. When grown in greenhouses, good air circulation is required to prevent powdery mildew.
