Ajuga reptans «Evening Glow» is an evergreen or semi-evergreen plant that forms carpet-like patches. The leaves have an obovate shape and a rich wine or bronze-purple color. Flowering occurs in late spring and early summer when upright inflorescences of a deep blue-purple hue appear.
The plant is used in landscape design as a groundcover for borders, rock gardens, containers, and shaded areas of the garden, helping to suppress weeds. The variety prefers partial shade, as the foliage can be damaged in direct sunlight. The plant adapts to various conditions, showing relative drought tolerance after establishment, although it develops better with regular watering.
