Variety description

10 August 2026

Jermor represents a classic 'Jersey' type shallot variety with elongated bulbs. The color of the dry scales is copper, the flesh has a pale pink or pinkish-white hue. The variety was obtained as a result of breeding work to improve farm populations using the meristem culture method to clear them of viruses.

The plant is compact, 35–45 cm tall, forming a cluster of 6–8 daughter bulbs. The variety is early-maturing, suitable for spring and pre-winter planting, tolerates drought well and is distinguished by high keeping quality during storage. The variety can be grown on various types of soils, including loams and sandy soils.
