The variety was developed based on the local Crimean variety "Yaltinskyi" (a naturalized form of the Portuguese onion "Madeira Flat") and belongs to the "Yaltinskyi" type group of varieties. The succulent scales are white with a purple tint.

There are scientific recommendations for growing seeds of this variety in the conditions of Crimea, as well as studies on the effect of its phytoncides on fungi of the genus Penicillium.
